Goodbye at Busan Station
Inspired by famous Korean pop song, "Busan Station: Where We Part Ways", Goodbye At Busan Station plays out one family's joy, anger, pleasure, and sorrow. Particularly poignant for local audiences, it plays on the nostalgia of Busan life including use of the local dialect.
Nowadays, Geumsoon runs a pub, but in her youth ran away to join the traveling theatre company. She reminisces about her days as a talented actress, most famously having played the lead of Sooni in “Goodbye at Busan Station.”
Constructed as a play within a play, Goodbye At Busan Station harkens back to a lost art. Long ago, theater companies were little more than a clown and band bouncing from small village to village. They were simple in their production, yet captivated audiences with singing and dancing, bringing them deep into another world of varying emotions. Though lost over time, these traveling companies were responsible for carrying culture throughout the country. Baby Boomers have emerged as key patrons of theatre because for them, entertainment is none purer than a player, a band, and grateful audience waiting to be carried away.Notice : Can not enter after the house-open
