Comedy/drama that mingles dance, mime, and magic!
Korea’s suicide rate ranks number one in the world.
Comedy Suicide aims to tell Korea and Korean audiences that ordinary life is more beautiful than any death itself.
Our protagonist is a magician for whom pessimism and grief is a way of life. Finding his existence insufferable, he decides his misery shall end noble death, in suicide.
He learns of a “suicide club” that assists its members in carrying out the suicides they’ve envisioned. Inspired by this, the magician sets out to grab dignity in death where it has escaped him in life and begins scripting his final scene.
The constructions of the “suicide club” aren’t exactly what he thought he wanted, but turn out to be everything he needed. Instead of building an end, they shine a light on a new beginning.
This peculiar story takes suicide and delivers it with elements of magic, mime and dance. The result is a delightful comedy/drama that leaves us with food for thought.
