For youth who’ve abandoned your dreams: puppet show, Dream, is for you!
The beautifully illuminated stage revealing charming puppets and enchanting dolls will captivate your attention.
As a young person, our protagonist was cared for by a station employee. This left a lasting impression, inspiring him to become a station employee himself. He grew to achieve that dream, but soon after traded his original aim for want of developing a good reputation and advancing to a higher position.
Driven by this revision of his dream, he uses kindness as a tool in becoming the youngest stationmaster. He believes this achievement to be his real dream and eagerly works to accomplish it. In actuality, this goal overshadows his true intent: simply, being a good station employee. He is blinded by ambition.
One day, a boy and a woman appear in the train station too late to catch any trains. Interacting with them, reality dissolves into a beautiful fantasy and our attendant falls into a fairy tale. Carried away by the fairy tale, he is brought back to his true dream.
“Dream” can be defined as...
1. A dream is an imaginary series of events that you experience in your mind while you are asleep.
2. A situation or events that you really wanted to happen.
3. A situation or event that does not seem real, as within a dream, especially if it is very strange or unpleasant.
Dreams are often betrayed by ambition; at some point, we become fixated on the vain expectations of others and what the masses define as success. We work eagerly to acquire property, position and reputation. After attaining these benchmarks of success, are we really happier than before? Can we honestly say we have accomplished our dream?
The most basic of dreams is being able to quiet the noise of others, and face what is reflected in the mirror. Dream tells of one station employee that dared to give in to fantasy. Because of it, he was able to uncover his true dream.
Often, we go through the motions of carrying out our busy and exhaustive lives on autopilot. This puppet show gives a moment to pause and raise the question: Is this really the life that I wanted?
