Ddiyong, Into the Nature

We meet Ddiyong, the main character of the puppet show, at an eco-camp for kids. Ddiyong is far from a model camper, guilty of mindlessly making waste. What starts as a little bit of food waste results in a Garbage Monster! The Garbage Monster preys on the children that helped create it- including Ddiyong!

Much like the imprint we make on our own environment, perpetrators inevitably becomes the victims of their own actions. Fortunate for Ddiyong, it’s all just a terrible dream. Having survived the horror of the Garbage Monster, he has learned that the best remedy is prevention.

Ddiyong gives center stage to an issue relevant tothose young, old, in Korea and around the world: the environment. The moral of Ddiyong is brought to life through the puppets themselves. Inspiring through examples, the creators of Ddiyong made their “actors” entirely of recycled materials. Children and their families can learn how to save resources in this playful atmosphere set to electrifying music.
