Bertrand's Toys

In this Russian production life size toys come alive to an electronic
industrial symphony and a stunning light show that grabs audiences.
It is the story of marionettes and dolls come to life and guided
by a mysterious often cruel hand.
Nightmare like, yet captivating it is an entertaining show
that will leave audiences thinking about it long after they have gone home.

Not suitable for young children Bertrand's Toys is dark, at times like a nightmare.
In the company's own words “If this is a dream then you will never wake up.
If this is reality then where is the door leading out of this world?”
A truer description could not be found, it is another world,
a world of the macabre with giant marionettes and dolls.
A world you want to escape from yet don't want to stop watching.
Created by the mime company blackSKYwhite from Russia,
Bertrand's Toys is impossible to put into one genre.
While borrowing from traditional mime techniques it is much more.
Despite inspiration from Russian horror films, ritual and Petrushka
 (a traditional Russian marionette character),
the show is modern and provocative.
Bertrand's Toys will be performed on Saturday and Sunday (May 8th and 9th),
with an afternoon showing on Saturday and two evening showings.
Tickets are 15,000 won. It is recommended for children 12 and up.
A non-verbal production it is great for audiences of any language.
