• As the curtain draws, the interior of Gong’s Hair Salon is shown. While it is being renovated to celebrate the anniversary of the shop, Mr. Gong and his assistant Siyoung and Gong’s pet, Walwari, are fussing around, chasing one another. An electrician is dangling from the ceiling as he tries to fix Mr. Gong’s new signboard.
• Next day. Siyoung, who is in love with Ameli, a video shop clerk next door, often imagines that he is the hero of Chinese martial arts films. In his fantasy, he fights bullies to save a beauty.
• In the late evening, a man visits near closing time. While trimming his hair, Mr. Gong realizes the customer is Chulsoo Cho. It reminds him of an old nightmare.
• Flash Back 1: One day in the 80’s, Cho and Gong are fighting the security guards they encountered after mistakenly touching an alarm while robbing a jewelry shop. Gong happens to shoot a guard who then dies, but Cho insists that he be the only criminal for the robbery and murder. Despite the agony, Gong leaves handing over his pocket watch to Cho as a token of their friendship.
• Present: As the anniversary celebration perm discount event is going on, Gong gives money as compensation to Chul-soo who has been imprisoned instead of Gong, but Cho returns Gong’s pocket watch, a token of their friendship. Conflict between them rises.
• Flash Back 2: Chulsoo and Gong have been best friends since high school. Cho, knowing that Gong is forced to rob the jewelry shop to pay back debt to gangsters, tries to help Gong by joining him in crime.
• Present: Ameli accepts Siyoung’s letter of proposal with the help of Walwari. In the mean time, Gong makes up his mind to commit a robbery once more to repay his psychic burden from Cho. However, Cho decides to leave returning Gong’s pocket watch.
• Catastrophe: Cho, finding out Gong’s plan, runs to his friend, but sees Gong in danger facing security guards. In protecting Gong, Cho got shot by a guard and dies after handing over the watch to Gong. Gong cries over his best friend’s dead body while visual projection shows how their friendship has been started and maintained.
