Chronicle of BIPAF
In "Mr. Carmen" Isaev and Semchenko play the opposition, the insoluble conflict and the tragic denouement of the relationship between a man and a woman – Jose and Carmen. The subject is based an action, executed by two actors by turns repeatedly but each time differently. It consists in writing the names in different ways – Semchenko as Jose writes "Carmen", Isaev as Carmen writes "Jose". At the end there is puppet postscript.Isaev and Semchenko lie on the floor, smoke their cigarettes and reel two red threads on which two wooden figures of Jose and Carmen are parted by the space of the stage. During the performance they move after each other. Now they are moving towards each other. But instead of meeting, they go right by one another.
