In the late 1960s, Kansai district. There was one tripe restaurant which is always full of smoke and smell of meat roasting, and a mixture of Korean and Kansai dialects. Kim Yong-gil, the owner of Yongil Tripe restaurant, lost his left arm in the Pacific War and lost his wife in the Korean War. After that, he met Young-soon, who had escaped with her daughter because of her violent husband. 

The main characters are Yongil, Yeongsoon, Yongil's first daughter Shizuka, the second daughter Rika, Youngsun's third daughter Mika and Tokio who was born between Yongil, Young Soon and the N district people who do not belong to Korea nor Japan.
