The story of Mang-gu starts with a exorcism by a shaman. Mang-gu who is 81-year-old is on her way. Even though she is wandering with a big package wrapped in cloth, she once was a girl full of romance, a wife, and a mother of a child. As her package is opened one by one, her story is shown on the stage like a patchwork.

When she was young, she married a man who was her first love and lived in harmony. However one day her husband had a concubine and left Mang-gu. Even though she waited husband believing that he will come back, he never returned.

When she becomes 81 years old, she goes off on a jorney to find her husband and she finally looks back on her life. Finally she disappears dancing on the road with azalea flowers in full blossom.
