Dance is more than mere rhythm and movement- <To Have More, to Live Better> is the personal appeal of two choreographers to dance as a celebration of life in the face of so much societal adversity.

Premieringat the World National Theatre Festival in 2011, the piece shares the autobiographical message from Factory 1+1+1 choreographers who are managing their own dance company in Seoul Korea as male dancers.
Young people all over the world are suffering from the current economic crisis and the young Korean generation is no exception.
These choreographersprovide a chance to think about recent social phenomena through this piece: “Don't be passive but be confident. And be together since you are not alone.” Sharing daily lives, memories and experiences might happen everywhere. Dance is the one thing the choreographers can offer.
It is dance; but don’t dismiss it. It will be shared. In its première, this piece brought together more than 150 international students from China, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Japan, etc. Based on this experience, we wish to have good time with BIPAF audiences and enjoy more chances to share and be shared.

Synopsis

In the capitalism society of Korea we have to sell for a living; we survive based on how we package and sell ourselves as artists. Though we seems to be normal 20s~30s people like others, we have thought that we're different. However, the performance plays out on stage, and we can feel united by the essential truth that all of our troubles are the same.
Factory 1+1+1

The upcoming two Korean male choreographers Son Youngmin and Kim Kihoon established Factory 1+1+1 in order to collaborate with other young artists from Korea and beyond. Both graduates of Korea National University of Arts, Son Youngmin and Kim Kihoon are highly technically trained dancers and have won significant dance competitions in Korea.
Anyone who shares this vision and develops his or her own dance production can join with Factory 1+1+1. Factory 1+1+1 also offers the artists a network comprised of visual artists, musicians and actors who can collaborate again and again in other projects once they find common interests to share through Factory 1+1+1’s works.
